Keep Your Child Safe on the Field!

Your child may be enjoying the last few days of summer, but you are preparing for fall’s busy schedule. School is almost back in session and youth league sign ups have begun for sports. Middle school and high school football practice is up and running, sometimes twice a day!

Keeping your children safe and smart on the field can help prevent common injuries that could result into a trip to the emergency room.

Some tips to keep in mind:

  • Before your child hits the field, make sure they have received a physical exam
  • Share emergency contact information with your child’s coach
  • Stretching before practice and games can help prevent sports-related injuries
  • Encourage your child to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated
  • Your child should have the appropriate and properly-fitted sports gear during practices and games to help avoid injuries
  • If you suspect your child has a concussion, have them evaluated and released by a medical professional before going back into a game
  • When in doubt about your child’s injury, sit them out

We hope that your family has a fun and safe sports season. If your child does experience a sports-related injury, call Alexander Shunnarah Personal Injury Attorneys, P.C, at
