Owen Mattox

Owen primarily handles matters related to medical malpractice, premises liability, and motor vehicle accidents.

Before joining Alexander Shunnarah Trial Attorneys, Owen spent several years as a civil defense lawyer, representing doctors, hospitals, nursing homes, automotive manufacturers, business owners, and insurance companies in lawsuits involving allegations ranging from medical malpractice and products liability to premises liability and general negligence.

Owen obtained his law degree from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law, graduating in the top 15% of his class. While he was a student, Owen was Articles Editor for the American Journal of Trial Advocacy—one of Cumberland’s two scholarly law journals. Owen also was a member of Cumberland’s nationally recognized trial advocacy program, and was taught by some of Alabama’s best trial lawyers how to effectively present cases to a jury. Owen now serves as an assistant coach on Cumberland’s National Trial Team coaching staff, teaching students about effective trial advocacy.
